Memorable Quotes: “If I hadn’t fallen, I wouldn’t have met you.”

Romance was not part of Nora Grey’s plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgement. But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen – and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

Hush, Hush begins with lovely Nora. She is a simple, plain girl who has a great connection with her best friend Vee. They are pretty much like any two best friends and I absolutely love Vee’s spark. When she meets Patch, he immediately makes you smile and you just know that he is trouble. In all honesty, I absolutely love Patch and his sass, cheek and just all around badass energy.

From that moment on when she meets Patch her life isn’t the same anymore. Very strange things happen, things that make your skin crawl from how spooky it makes you feel. I have to admit when I would read a few of the strange occurrences I couldn’t read them fast enough. Becca Fitzpatrick has a way to REALLY grip you in and make you continually turn the pages until you find yourself staying up later than expected, purely because you want to know what happens next.

Patch is intriguing, and Nora finds herself continually gravitating towards her. It’s adorable, honestly, they melt me. I feel like a few of us can relate to Nora. You know when you do certain things before really thinking through how they can be perceived later on? Yeah, that. She finds herself in awkward situations sometimes. She’s fun.

I love LOVE, and I believe this series portrayed it quite well. Unfortunately I wish there was more of it, strangely, because I do feel as though Becca Fitzpatrick tried to portray Nora as a jealous type and Patch didn’t receive it well. Which is fine, sometimes that isn’t people’s cups of tea and I like that she kept it healthy and all that jazz. But in their case, I wish Patch tried a bit harder to help Nora feel more comfortable in certain situations because given his track record I feel Nora had a lot of right in her feelings.

There’s a lot of twists and turns that find Nora in bad situations, and Patch as well. If you love angels, mind games, complete page turner moments that make you want to know more – this series is for you.

Full of a lot of heart tugging moments, this series makes you question everything. I couldn’t guess the ending, and I think that’s what I loved the most. Sometimes these stories can be quite obvious, however I didn’t find this to be the case.

There’s a lot of backstory that is told as well, so there’s history put in place and a lot to do with family dramas and situations where characters aren’t who you thought they were or would be. It’s mind blowing!

Other reviewers of this series have tied it closely towards the Twilight saga, however I strongly disagree. There are the tiniest similarities, however the writing style is completely different and I do not see Edward in Patch nor Bella in Nora. I do feel as though people who have connected the two probably shouldn’t be reading YA romance fantasy series because you probably could say the same for any of them.

Overall Verdict: This series has a special place in my heart. It really took me to a different place in my mind, and I absolutely loved every second. I read this series on my Kindle, and I loved it so much I got the hardcover copies for my bookshelf for my following birthday because it truly is incredible.
